Blomdahl is a Swedish medical company recognized for the gentlest piercing method available, using fully encapsulated, single-use sterile cassettes that never come into contact with skin or operator. The hand-pressurized instrument is silent, controlled, and far less startling than spring-loaded guns.
We pierce ear lobes and outer-ear placements only. We do not perform inner-cartilage piercings (daith, rook, tragus, conch, industrial), nor any nose, navel, lip, or body piercings. If you are looking for those services, we are happy to refer you to a specialty studio.
Blomdahl studs are made from medical-grade titanium or medical plastic — both completely nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Lobe piercings typically heal in 6 to 8 weeks; outer-ear placements may take longer. Proper aftercare during the healing period is the most important factor in outcome quality.
Eat a full meal before your appointment to keep blood sugar stable. Do not consume alcohol beforehand. Come with clean skin around the piercing site. Bring valid photo ID. Clients under 18 must bring a parent or guardian who will be present for the procedure and sign consent documentation.
The piercing area is cleaned and marked for your approval before anything proceeds. You confirm the exact placement. A pre-loaded single-use Blomdahl cassette is placed in the hand-pressurized instrument and the stud passes through in a fraction of a second — quietly, with no spring snap. The sensation is a brief, sharp pinch lasting less than a second.
Clean your piercing twice daily with a sterile saline wound wash. Do not rotate, twist, or remove the jewelry during healing. Keep unwashed hands away from the piercing. Avoid submerging in pools, lakes, or hot tubs for 4 to 6 weeks. Do not use alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on the piercing.
